Shakespeare on the Rocks: The Tempest

Join us on July 10 for a relaxing evening on our lakefront backlawn – such stuff as dreams are made on! The War Memorial welcomes Shakespeare in Detroit for an outdoor reading of the Tempest for the first event in our new series Shakespeare on the Rocks.

The powerful performance will be combined with dynamic views and curated cocktails – guaranteed to entertain until our revels have ended.

Salute to America

Celebrate the Fourth of July your way at Salute to America — surrounded by friends and family, the power of music and 300 years of stories in motion. Experience a masterful musical performance in an idyllic setting at Salute to America in Greenfield Village.

Once the sun sets, the world-renowned Detroit Symphony Orchestra takes center stage for a triumphant musical performance featuring celebratory orchestral music and selections from films and American popular culture, anchored by Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," cannon fire and a brilliant fireworks finale.

The event is set for July 2-5, from 5 to 10 p.m.
