Material fee $20. Registration deadline, Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Brought to you by the Grosse Pointe Artist Association:

White-line woodblock printmaking began in 1915, the first woodblock printmaking unique to the United States. Western artists admired the Eastern traditional type of woodblock printing made by the Japanese artists. The Eastern art form required several blocks of wood to produce a finished print. The Western printmakers of 1915 created their own style of woodblock printing using only one block of wood.

For all registering, Nobuko will provide a Japanese Shina board and printing paper.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, Jan. 28, so she can order supplies from Japan.

Those who have taken a workshop with Nobuko in the past are ask to bring their own tools. For those new to a White line Woodblock Printing, Nobuko will loan carving tools.

Everyone must bring a 5”x5” design ,and watercolors with a couple watercolor brushes.
