The War Memorial’s Historic Tour offers an intimate journey through the elegant Alger House — a home steeped in nearly a century of stories. Once a private residence, later a museum, and now a living tribute to history and community, the Alger House has hosted political figures, inventors, and cultural icons alike.

Each 90-minute tour highlights the mansion’s architectural details, artistic treasures, and fascinating tales — including family histories, notable guests, and even a few mysterious moments from the archives.

Tours are held on the second Thursday of each month at 10:00am and are limited to 12 guests to ensure a personal experience. The home is wheelchair accessible and features an elevator for all floors.

This event is free and open to all. In the spirit of accessibility and community support, we’ve introduced a “Pay What You Wish” option. While there is no cost to attend, your contribution—of any amount—helps offset the expenses of this program and supports future community offerings at The War Memorial.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The War Memorial relies on the generosity of our community to preserve this historic landmark and sustain meaningful programming for generations to come.
