In Her Garden - Honoring Marion Alger
In honor of Women’s History Month, we gather to celebrate Marion Alger, whose gift of her family home, The Moorings, shaped what would become The War Memorial. A devoted steward of the estate, she is remembered with the affectionate distinction of the Mother of The Moorings—a reflection of the care she took in nurturing her home, her gardens, and her community. Her belief that The Moorings should serve educational, cultural, and charitable purposes continues to guide our mission today.
This special Sunday afternoon invites guests to experience her legacy through food, history, and florals.
