Detroit Free Press names The War Memorial a winner of the Michigan Top Workplaces 2022 Award

The War Memorial has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor by Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces. The list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

Situated on the grounds of the historic Alger Estate, The War Memorial serves an estimated 250,000 individuals with over 3,000 functions annually, including programs to honor veterans, engagement experiences for adults and children, community events and celebrations, and premier hospitality services.

With new programming and innovative leadership, The War Memorial is a unique, dynamic and forward-thinking hub for southeast Michigan with a mission to be a contemporary patriotic, cultural, and community leader.

“This is a direct reflection of the efforts put toward our culture and attracting, retaining and lifting up a passionate, hardworking team,” said Charles Burke, president and CEO. “As leadership, I am humbled by the authentic joy our teammates have being part of this unique mission.”

Michigan Top Places to Work is among the nation’s most credible employer recognition program which aims to help organizations of all sizes create work experiences that unlock potential and inspire performance.
