Through Jan. 8, check out the Patriot Gallery at The War Memorial to see what students in grades 1–5 from the Grosse Pointe Public School System and Harper Woods School District came up with in sharing their holiday traditions through art and writing in the Merry Memories Art & Essay Contest! The gallery is located underneath the Ballroom of the Fred M. Alger Center on the waterfront side.

Winning students were featured in the Grosse Pointe News Thanksgiving Edition, rode on the WCCCD-sponsored fire engine during the Grosse Pointe Santa Claus Parade, have their work showcased in the Merry Memories exhibition, and took part in the War Memorial Tree Lighting.
