Liquor & Lore:
A Celebration of Bourbon

What better way to celebrate America's 250th anniversary than with its very own spirit?

Join us for an unforgettable evening honoring bourbon — recognized by Congress in 1964 as a "Distinctive Product of the United States" and truly America's Native Spirit. This 2.5-hour experience is part hands-on cocktail class, part curated tasting, pairing three full-size craft cocktails — each rooted in a different era of American history — with specially prepared small bites from the War Memorial's kitchen.

Your guide for the evening is local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift of Liquor & Lore, who will walk you through bourbon's rich American story from its 19th century roots to the cocktails we know and love today. For each cocktail, Beth will demonstrate the technique, guests will craft their own, and then everyone will sip together while Beth shares the fascinating stories behind the spirit.
