Picnic & Play by the Lake

Make summer mornings count at Picnic & Play by the Lake, a free family gathering on the beautiful back lawn of the War Memorial.

Join us on June 25, July 23, and August 27 from 10:30am–12:30pm in partnership with The Family Center, for a relaxed, joy-filled morning by the lake. Families from Grosse Pointe and surrounding communities are invited to bring a picnic, spread out a blanket, and enjoy time together in one of the most scenic spots along the shoreline.

We’ll have plenty of yard games and engaging activities ready for children and families to enjoy — offering space to move, play, and connect. Whether you stay for a quick snack break or the full two hours, this is an easy, welcoming way to enjoy summer together.
