2nd Saturdays: Dino Discovery
Second Saturdays at The War Memorial offer a fun, family-friendly way to spend the morning together. Designed for children ages 3–10, each event includes three themed craft stations, storytime, and a live stage show. Tickets are just $10 per child, while parents attend free — complete with complimentary coffee at our coffee station.
It’s the perfect way for kids to engage with hands-on activities, explore their creativity, and use their imagination, while parents get a chance to relax and discover more about The War Memorial’s classes and offerings.
Dino Discovery
Travel back in time for a prehistoric adventure filled with dinosaurs, discovery, and hands-on fun! Young paleontologists can explore creative activities, learn fascinating dinosaur facts, and enjoy a roaring good time with the whole family.
This month’s activities include:
Stage Show with Richard Paul: Enjoy Donny the Dinosaur's Prehistorically Family Fun Show, an interactive performance featuring laughter, learning, and plenty of dinosaur-themed fun.
Dinosaur Craft: Create a prehistoric-themed project to take home.
Modeling Clay Sculpture: Work with Creative Nature Art and Design to sculpt your own colorful masterpiece.
Storytime: Cozy up in the recently restored Alger House Library at 9:15 or 9:45 a.m. for dinosaur-themed stories.
Coloring Station: For our youngest guests (or anyone who wants a break), dinosaur-themed coloring pages will be on hand.
2nd Saturdays Full Series
Oct. 10: Not-So-Spooky Halloween - Celebrate Halloween with family-friendly fun, silly surprises, and plenty of festive activities. This not-so-spooky morning is perfect for little ghosts, goblins, and superheroes looking for a fun Halloween adventure.
Nov. 14: Mini Makers Market - Calling all creators and innovators! Explore a morning dedicated to imagination, creativity, and hands-on making. Kids can experiment, build, and discover the joy of creating something uniquely their own.
Jan. 9: Pirate's Treasure Hunt - Ahoy, mateys! Set sail for a swashbuckling adventure filled with treasure maps, hidden clues, and pirate-themed fun. Young explorers can use their imagination as they search for adventure on the high seas and discover the treasures that await.
Feb. 13: Pajama Playdate Party - Roll out of bed and join us for a cozy morning of stories, creativity, and family fun. Wear your favorite pajamas and enjoy activities designed to celebrate comfort, imagination, and spending time together.
Mar. 13: Under The Sea - Dive into an ocean of adventure as we explore the wonders beneath the waves. From colorful sea creatures to underwater discoveries, this aquatic-themed morning is sure to make a splash with children of all ages.
