Saturdays, June 6, 13 and 20
Brought to you by the Grosse Pointe Artist Association:
Hallmark cards once had a slogan: "When you care enough to send the very best."
We'd like to update that sentiment with: "When you care enough, you'll create your own cards."
Nobuko Yamasaki, an expert in Japanese Woodblock, is offering a class that will teach you the steps to create your own cards, good for birthdays, thank yous, etc.
She will provide a Japanese Shina Board, printing paper and special brushes.
You will need to bring your choice of watercolors and 6.25inx4.25in design.
During the class you will learn to carve your design into the Shina Board, ink the board and print your cards.
At the end of class you will have five, 5inx7in greeting cards and the know-how to make many more.
The class registration fee includes $20 for materials. Registration deadline is Thursday, May 21, so that the materials can be ordered from Japan.
