Java I - Grades 6-8

Kids in grades 6-8 will learn about computer science using Java programming language. Students will learn and understand basic Java syntaxes, commands, and instructions to program an adventure game and calculators that will prepare them to design larger applications in Java 2. Students will also use and develop their own creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.

Cyr Wheel Class (Ages 10+) - NEW CLASS

he Cyr wheel is an acrobatic apparatus that consists of a single large ring made of aluminum or steel  The performer stands inside the Cyr wheel and grasps its rim, causing it to roll and spin while performing acrobatic moves in and around the rotating wheel.  We are pleased to welcome Spinnovation Detroit to The War Memorial to offer Cyr Wheel workshops and classes specifically designed for beginning youth and adult students!  This is a fantastic way to have fun, get fit, and discover your inner circus performer!

This seminar focuses on contemporary youth etiquette and dining skills. The class is highly interactive and fun, with an emphasis on leadership, character and positive self-esteem. Some topics covered include: Posture and Body Language, How to Make an Entrance, Handshaking, Dining Etiquette, and Table Setting.  Prepare your child to meet the future with poise and confidence!
