Bootlegger’s Delight:
A War Memorial Speakeasy

Step back in time and experience the charm of Russell Alger’s legendary rec room on the lower level of the Alger House. Enjoy an afternoon filled with live music, specialty cocktails, and fascinating historic tours, including a behind-the-scenes look at our ongoing historic house renovation. Inspired by the Prohibition era, this unique event pairs history with hospitality for an unforgettable lakeside gathering. Performances will be by musicians Aunt Comet and Lydia Jackson.

At the September 28th Speakeasy, tours will be led by Anthony Kartsonas of Historic Surfaces, LLC, the project manager behind our renovations in the historic Alger House. Tony will provide a peek behind the walls of the recently completed library renovation, as well as the War Memorial's plans for restoring the Dining Room in January of 2026.
