Remembering Hudson's: What's in store for Northland

December 4, 2022 | 2-4PM

Bruce Allen Kopytek, architect, historian and author of Hudson's -- Detroit's World-Famous Department Store, will take us back to the days when a trip to Hudson's downtown was an adventure. He will help us reminisce about the captivating window displays, the shiny escalators, the exotic fragrances and of course the Maurice salad served in the gracious, hushed dining room on the 13th floor. Bruce will also share a new chapter in Hudson's history. He is on the team that is reimagining Northland and repurposing the Hudson's building there. He will have books for purchase and signing after his talk.

Join artists, architects, art historians and community activists for a lecture series to celebrate the old and new in our neighborhoods.

Enjoy one or all five lectures. A bonus for series ticketholders is a tour of the newly restored Frederick Stearns House after the final lecture.

The presenters volunteer their services, so all proceeds go to support GPAA's free programming for senior citizens, veterans and students in art programs at area high schools.

Your Old Mansion is a program offering hosted by the Grosse Pointe Artists Association. The button below will redirect you to GPAA’s website for addition information and registration.
