Our veterans are not just names in a history book. They are our fathers and our brothers, our mothers and our sisters, they are our friends and our neighbors. They are the heroes next door. Their stories of sacrifice and courage must be preserved and shared with every generation so that we may as a community always be mindful of the selfless, brave individuals that are responsible for keeping our nation free.
Please visit our Veteran’s Legacy Kiosk as it brings to life the stories of our veterans and recognizes the service of all Grosse Pointe veterans who served in peace and in conflict. The kiosk enables visitors to link to veteran’s biographies and historical information, including personal photographs and video interviews, allowing all visitors to get to know the selfless service men and women who have preserved our nation’s freedom.
The Grosse Pointe War Memorial is currently campaigning to gather the names of service men and women from the Grosse Pointe community. If you know of anyone who has served or is serving in the Afghanistan or Iraq campaigns anytime since October 24th, 2001, we are interested in hearing from you.
