The top young talent from across the regions of Grosse Pointe, Detroit, and Oakland County unite for this unprecedented chamber music project.

Under the direction of Hai Xin Wu, the Youth Arts Project affords participants the opportunity to learn from accomplished guest teaching artists, to grow as musicians, and to have some fun along the way.

FAQ for Performers and Families

When is the performance?

The performance is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30pm. The performance will take place in The War Memorial’s Lakefront ballroom.

What is the cost of participating in The War Memorial’s Youth Arts Project?

There is no cost for participation. Tickets to the performance are available for purchase at $10 for adults and $5 for non-performing students.

What do I need to bring to rehearsals?

Performers must provide their own instrument and music stand, and should also bring a pencil to each rehearsal. Complimentary snacks and bottled water will be provided for performers at each rehearsal. Parents are not required, but are welcome to quietly observe the rehearsals. Performers will wear concert black attire for the final performance. Neckties are not required for gentlemen.

Is there an attendance policy?

Required attendance allows for one missed rehearsal; please provide advance notice.

How is section seating determined?

Seating is determined by the project leader, and the project leader reserves the right to alter seating at any time for the benefit of the overall orchestra.

Will the performance be recorded?

Rehearsals and the performance may be professionally recorded and/or photographed. The War Memorial reserves the right to use video and photographs taken onsite for the purpose of promoting The War Memorial, its programs, and events.
