Hosting a Group, Event or Meeting

Booking | Please speak to a coordinator to inquire about dates. A temporary hold may be placed on a date for one week. A contract will be issued after you confirm a date with your coordinator. The reservation is complete upon your coordinator’s receipt of the signed contract and deposit.

Deposits | All rooms have a room rental fee which serves as your non-refundable deposit.

Menus | Selections should be planned 1 month in advance of your event. See our “Menus” page for selections. Speak with a coordinator about special dietary considerations. The Michigan Health Department prohibits outside food to be brought into the War Memorial.

Service Charge/Sales Tax | All food and beverage are subject to a 6% sales tax and 20% service charge.

Guarantee | Confirmation of the number of guests expected is due two weeks in advance of your event, at which time your coordinator will assess your balance owed. The final count must be confirmed 1 week before the event. This number is used to order and prepare the food and cannot be changed within 4 business days of the event.

Linen | White linen is the standard. Patrons may use outside vendor services if they choose to use colored linen.

Bar | The War Memorial does not have a liquor license. All alcoholic beverages must be brought in by the patron. See our Spirit Handling Policies page under “Menus” for details.

Buffet Service | A minimum of 30 guests is required to order buffet selections.

Multiple Entree Fee | An additional $1.00 per person will be charged for having a choice of two different entrees. Double entrees must have the same salad, vegetable, starch, and dessert.

Children Pricing | Pricing for children is available upon request.

*Please Note- The Michigan Health Department prohibits food items to be taken off the premises and does not allow food to be brought into the War Memorial.
